“Rock For Strathcarron” started when my Father spent his last weeks at Strathcarron Hospice and I decided to use my love of Rock music to raise some money for them as a “thank you” for all their amazing work and the kindness the staff there had shown to my family.
A Rock Night in my local pub went so well that I did a second, bigger night and then the whole thing spiralled out of control and I ended up putting on a gig for over 600 people at The Albert Halls in 2012 and then organising subsequent concerts there in 2014 and 2015!
In 2015, “Rock For Strathcarron” was officially registered as a “not-for-profit” company and we now plan to put on 2 gigs a year with all profits, as ever, going to the Hospice.
I applied to CFSLA for an award in 2015 and was delighted to receive £400 which was sent directly to Strathcarron Hospice. Starting this year, I intend bringing “name” bands to the local area and hopefully CFSLA will be able to help support us in this aim”.
