An award from CFSLA has allowed 2nd Torwood Scout Group to buy new games equipment for the Beavers, Cubs and Scouts who attend the troop at its premises at Torwoodhead, just south of Torwood.
With around 100 Beavers, Cubs and Scouts in the Troop, all of the games equipment receives ‘robust’ attention (they’re a competitive lot!). The award allowed a lot of equipment to be purchased from the ‘wishlist’, including a 4-way tug-of-war rope, complete rounders kit, balls and cones.
This has greatly added to the fun and games on troop nights within the hall and when, weather permitting, the troop meets outdoors at the Scout’s Barrwood campsite north of Denny. Along with the recent completion of an extension to the 100 plus year old hall, this has ensured the continued provision of a varied and active programme for the children.
The children and leaders wish to express their thanks to CFSLA for this award which will enable the continued delivery of a wide, varied and active programme.
